Background:Taking advantage of deregulation in the milk industry, a Pretoria family (Meyer and Neethling) with experience and interests in milk farming (established The Dairy Shop in 1995) as an outlet selling milk to the public.
Since then, the business has expanded to become a substantial supplier of dairy products in the Pretoria region. At present The Diary Shop is one of the biggest suppliers of milk in the area and is currently the only milk factory situated in Pretoria urban area. We supply a full range of dairy products to the retail, industry and catering market. Except for milk, other products include fruit yoghurt, drinking yoghurt, amazi, cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, cream and fruit juices.
The Dairy Shop operates from a modern facility in The Willows Business Park, Silverton, and is managed full-time by co-owner Wallie Meyer.
Quality:
The Dairy Shop is a member of the South African Milk Producers Organisation (SAMPRO) and complies with all the relevant health regulations. The Provincial Health Department and Department of Agriculture conducts regular inspection of facilities and test products to ensure compliance with local authority health requirements.
As part of its ongoing quality assurance programme, The Dairy Shop also make use of Merieux Nutri Sciences, a testing laboratory at the forefront of technology to maintain quality in its entire product range. Milk is regularly tested for quality purposes. The Dairy Shop has also an in-house laboratory in the factory.

Our customer profile comprises of Spar stores in Pretoria, OK Minimarkets, Food Lover Markets, Wimpy restaurants and various other restaurants. The Diary Shop also caters for the hospitality industry. Clients include Reef Caterers and Ejosi Caterers, to name a few.
Our client basis is approximately 400 customers.
